SEFS13, 18-23 June 2023

In June 2023, the Freshwater Biological Association (FBA) hosted the 13th Symposium for Freshwater Sciences (SEFS13) in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom.

It was a great experience for me to have been a member of the conference organising committee for this remarkable event. SEFS13 proved to be an intellectually stimulating and enjoyable gathering, featuring an array of exceptional scientific talks, engaging sessions, and enriching activities, both during the day and in the evenings, all about freshwater ecology!

One noteworthy highlight of our conference was the dedicated event we organised exclusively for the Early Career Network, which garnered an impressive turnout, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of emerging great scientists in the field.

I had the chance of delivering a presentation on the interacting impacts of sewage discharge and land use on river ecosystems.

SEFS13 was a great experience - looking forward to the next conference!
