Are urban areas hotspots for #pollution from pet #parasiticides?

Pesticide chemicals banned in agriculture have found another life in pet parasiticide products, and unfortunately they are regularly being detected at concentrations that are harmful to aquatic life all over England's river, lakes and ponds and largely in urban areas.

In our paper we ask whether the balance has changed in such a way that the environmental harm derived by pet parasiticides now outweighs the benefits to pets and their owners.

Regulatory bodies, scientists, vets, and pet owners need to work together to reduce the environmental impact of pet parasiticides.
